You can test at 250v DC if there are RCDs installed or you can do a combined line and neutral test to earth at 500v it will not damage RCDs or other sensitive equipment as there is no potential difference .

Hi Lauri, When testing between L and N on the dead side of the RCD, is there a risk of damage to the RCD. When doing my 2394, our lecturer always warned us of not damaging the RCD when IR testing although I can't see how this would occur after looking at an RCD diagram. I always individually test the ccts. Many thanks.

Dear sir,
I have a done a house hold wiring for villa, During a megger test we notice that valve between phase and neutral is good 500 Mohm when test between Phase to earth wire it is shown as less than 100 Mohm when i remove the all wire from conduit and we test it is showing correctly as 500Mohm, After that i replaced all wire as New before pulling the wire in conduit i checked it is shown correctly as 500 Mohm after pulled the wire in conduit it shown as below 100 Mohm Please give me solution,
