In this video, we look at the complete history of the vast eastern land of Rhûn, from the awakening of the Elves in the Years of the Trees to the Easterling invasions of the Third Age.

The sun initially rose in the west, and then swung back and forth between west and east, never setting. The Valar soon changed their minds, and the sun began following the daily cycle we still have today.

I'm a software engineer, and this has always seemed like a post-release bug fix via a configuration setting update. 🙂☀️

It's really too bad that Amazon didn't decide to focus their series on the Easterlings and blue wizards. There would be so many interesting stories about the various peoples and those that resist against Sauron, and no need to stomp all over the existing worldbuilding.
