" Dearest Father and Almighty Creator, we ask for Your grace tonight, despite our pride. Your forgiveness, despite our doubt. Most of all, Lord, we ask for Your love to soothe us through these dark times. May we face whatever is to come in Your divine will with courage and open hearts of acceptance, Amen . "

"It's the simplest things that got me living free I give my grace to the lord how can I not believe".

This film was mostly a satire but this scene I thought knocked it out of the park. From Dr. Mindy putting his arm on his son, to the last line "The thing of it is we really did have everything didn't we? I mean, when you think about it" Beautifully done here.

I think the greatest contrast and irony in the movie is the fact that these smart people were worried when the dumb masses were calm, and these smart people were calm when everybody else started to panic.

When the world ends. This is how I wanna go out. “When you know there’s nothing left you can do. But what you can do is spend time with family and loved ones around you in your final moments of life” ❤

This one scene is so brilliant. The talking away the fear by using small talk. Leonardo's we've had it all.. and Jennifer's defeated sigh. The slowmo before the end with the music box getting louder. It's the last imprint of human civilisation being immortalized just how light can stick for a few seconds when it goes dark.

Those last words by Di Caprio really moved me and also Jennifer Lawrence's last moments after when she sighs in response and the look on her face in those last moments. The face of endless regrets, so many things unaccomplished, the final realisation of defeat and hopelessness despite all the efforts, the spite of youthfulness unsatiated... really moved me! We humans are too often a wretched creature!

I wish when my time comes that I go out with that kind of composure and tranquility

I really enjoyed this movie. This last scene was quite well done. Perfectly executed.

When that scene froze when Dr. Ogelthorpe was speaking, I first thought it was a flaw in the film. I can't tell you how many times I ran that back to make sure it wasn't a digital goof. Then I realized it's the moment when the comet hit the planet and you can see everyone's reaction as they try to carry on the conversation without mentioning that what they felt. One of the best scenes of the movie.

Love this movie and it just hits a little too close to home. This scene in particular is so beautiful.

If something like this happens during my time here on this version of Earth; hope I’m surrounded by my loved ones as well. And I hope, that whatever human like being inhabits the best version of Earth…hope they do it better.

The prayer - beautiful as it was - forgot to really say thanks (it was its only flaw).
So it somehow came into Leo's head that he should do that, in his inimitable way, though the words he said were not planned in the script.
That's yet another sign associated with this movie.

This is how I would visually describe the feeling of existentialism.

"Thing of it is, we really...we really did have everything, didn't we? I mean, when you think about it..."

These words and scene pretty much perfectly encapsulate life in the western/civilized world right now or in 21st century. We have everything, maybe even too much, and yet - it is still not enough, people still want more, if you point out it isn't right you get called weird because you use too frank/non-sugarcoated language...and then it just keeps getting worse. We have movies, books, and tons of other things saying how too much of a good thing is wrong, and yet, nobody listens and follows this idea.

We're just making things more and more complicated and always push it to the point it starts collapsing and then we re-build. And when we realize it is starting to collapse, we all zone out and try to cash out and so on and that's what's happening now after COVID and in the current times, in cities especially. And I can write this under a video like this, but that's it, if I say it out loud in front of people, I'm just labeled weird.
