This movie is the most accurate horror film I've ever seen. Knowing it was written before Covid makes the future look even more terrifying.

The presentation for the new BASH phone drove me crazy. It's all about how the phone can monitor your emotions so you never have to feel a negative emotion again. It's exactly what we go through on YouTube with them banning or demonetizing anything that's now 100% positivity. I think Jennifer Lawrence said it best. Sometimes it's ok to not be ok.

the craziest part was when i was explaining this movie to a few coworkers, one of the girls was only half listening and at the end only offered up “ how was Ariana grandes performance” and i had to take a step back and explain to her she just proved that plot line true

As bizarre as it seems, it was interesting to see a film that actually ended with the earth being destroyed, instead of the usual Hollywood "hero" saving the earth from disaster. Really thought provoking and accurately depicted the chasm between the mega rich and the rest of us. Throughly enjoyed it.

What bothers me most about this movie is that it seems realistic. It’s exactly how I think this situation would happen. Everyone would be screwed and only a rich few would escape.

I keep thinking of the dinner scene. What would you do if you knew the world was coming to an end? How would you want to spend those last minutes? Somehow the ordinariness of sharing a meal with family and friends seems like the most meaningful and important thing in the world in the face of planetary destruction.

Jonah Hill's character as the last man on Earth felt like a "even a cockroach can survive the apocalypse" moment to me. Almost like it's paralleled to cockroaches surviving the extinction of dinosaurs

honestly, i hate orlean and her son. but seeing the scene where orlean is on the spaceship realizing she forgot her son on earth, and her son assuring himself that she’s coming back hit me so hard

I just finished the movie…. My first thought was like “this is satire, this comedy, right?” But then why does it feel so… “on point” as if they rolled a simulation of what the future is heading to be and made a movie about it.

"Don't Look Up" for me was one of the few disaster movies out there that I've recommended to others to see. Why? Because it really is grounded and accurately portrays how world politics and media would react to such an event. It is a perfect allegory for more than just climate change.

I loved this film. I TOTALLY missed the climate change allegory. I focused on the fact that the collective human attention span is 6.8 seconds, that life in general is a fluent montage, that pop culture is everything, that people live to be distracted.

It’s genius to make a movie about how our world is today (dumb political leaders, poor community that takes nothing seriously, and the greed for money from newer tech when in reality it’s all killing our planet) great movie that reveals our reality

The most traumatizing part about this movie for me, is the part of the connection of the family, the rooftop orgy, and the tribe member chanting. The acceptance, despairation and disbelief of our differences makes this movie feel real. Its, just incredible.

I think Mindy was originally going to die alone as predicted; but since he was told the circumstances of his death, he consciously changed his future.

Had he not been told, he would have likely died as predicted.

The ending was heartbreaking. I mean they knew they were going to die and they just accepted it while trying to pretend everything was okay. Nonetheless, it was an amazing movie. Really funny too IMO.

I would personally think that the ending with all of the lives on Earth killed made me sad, but was angry when the Ship that holds the president and any "Important" people on it leaves Earth, a metaphor of trying to escape their problems. But when the "Rich" people are about to be eaten by the Brontarocs because they have no experience in survival thus ending humanity again, I feel like it was bittersweet knowing they have to face the reality that they are doomed in the first place.

Not many disaster movies touch me to the point of tears but this one...I cried through the last 10 minutes of the movie. Not just because of how well the acting was and executed the story was but because...there's a part of me that realizes this is going to happen again. And if it happens in my lifetime, I pray I can go out like Leo and them with my family and friends at one table together until the end 💫

For me the best part was right at the end where Randall says "The thing of it is, we really did have everything didn't we? I mean when you think about it." And then they all think about it for 4 seconds right before they are all killed.
