Outspoken African-American sheriff of Milwaukee County, David A. Clarke Jr., brought his controversial message to New York City last week saying he believes the six Baltimore police officers being prosecuted for the death of Freddie Gray are "political prisoners."

"In my estimation the six officer who were charged in the Freddie Gray incident in Baltimore, Maryland, they were political prisoners," he said.

"There was no basis whatsoever under the rule of law to charge those officers," added Clarke. "None."

In particular, Clarke, who was speaking at dinner hosted by Hillsdale College, said he took issue with the words of Baltimore State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby' who announced charges against the officers saying she had heard the city's "call for 'No Justice, no peace.'"

Hey Blaze people. You don't need to put "Black sheriff" in the title or "African American" in the description. It goes without saying.

Whenever someone dies in police custody (and under highly suspicious circumstances),  it's a big deal.  It must be investigated.  Gray had serious injuries, the kind that you just don't get from 'running away' from the police.  Somehow, Mr. Clarke has left THAT conversation out of his speech.  It doesn't matter what anyone's political persuasion is, every life is valuable.  If, as it is suspected, the transport van was used to cause those injuries to Mr. Gray (which ultimately caused his death), then those responsible will have to deal with that.  It gives me no pleasure to see police officers lives turned upside down over this, but justice must be for EVERYONE, not just a few. Then, and ONLY then, can Lady Justice hold up that balanced scale that Mr. Clarke talks about in his speech. It does no good to simply talk about a balanced justice system when everyone knows that for some, it doesn't exist. Then it's just talk.

I don't see how Conservatives are always worried of a police state but then see nothing wrong with stuff like this

What never made sense was that the Officers only made the arrest and then called the wagon to take him away .
The transport wagon wasn't manned by all those Cops , so why was Obama bent on holding the arresting
Officers responsible for what the Driver may have done from a rough and bumpy
