There's 2 men here. The sheriff, and the camera man.

Only time CNN gets likes is when they get owned.

The way Don tried to use the study to his advantage, but the sheriff already read the study, called him out on his bull, then Don just started implying the study was useless, is a perfect comedy sketch.

Don lemon says "we can't have a dialog if we keep talking over each other" and then continues to talk over the sheriff

Let’s be clear: The likes are for the sheriff.

I'm guessing Sheriff isn't going to be a guest of CNN again.

7 years later 2024 and this interview is re-surfacing everywhere. I'm seeing a lot of shorts of Lemon head getting schooled by this sheriff 😂

Don Lemon: “there was a harvard study that supports my narrative”
Sheriff: “I read the study”
Don Lemon: “it’s not valid anymore”

As a Statistical Analyst since 1985 and political Independent, Don Lemmon isn't presenting anything that is factual. Here are some facts that he is conveniently ignoring:

In early 2020, the largest study ever done on police involved shootings was done jointly by the Washington Post, University of Maryland, and Michigan St. University. It looked at every police shooting in every police precinct in the nation in 2019.

There were 1, 003 armed people killed by police officers: 405 were white, 249 were black, and 349 were other races.

According to a 2022 FBI data, 12 unarmed black males were shot by police that year (27 white males). According to 2022 National Weather Service data, 19 people were struck by lightning

There were 55 unarmed people killed by police: 25 were white, 14 were black, and 16 were other races.

Number of police interactions with the public nationally in 2019 ~ 350 million
Number of unarmed black people shot & killed by cops nationally in 2019 = 14.
That is of all police interactions ending in the death of an unarmed black person.
But there are usually MANY reasons officers shoot any unarmed suspect; like if a suspect is trying to obtain the weapon of the officer, the suspect is going for a weapon, or if the officer is being physically overtaken by a bigger, stronger, suspect or multiple suspects. Nearly 100% of the time, the suspect is refusing to comply. But if you take the hundreds of thousands of officers in the nation, multiply that by the number of contacts per day, these are statistically negligible. So, you're trying to take highly marginal incidents and apply them to the whole issue.

FBI Uniform Crime Report (2016): The number of black murder victims jumped 900% since the Black Lives Matter movement started in 2014. The overwhelming majority (93%) were killed by black criminals, not police or white people.

Dr. Richard Johnson, Criminologist, University of Toledo; 2012 American Crime Study

*Black males are 40X more likely to be killed by other black males than a police officer.

*Less than 400 people were killed by police officers in 2012. Of those, 61% were white, 32% were black.

*Black males are only 6.5% of the population, but commit 52% of all murders.

*Blacks are 27% more likely to attack whites than whites attack blacks and 8% more likely to attack Hispanics than in reverse.

*93% of all black people who are murdered are murdered by other black people.

*Black offenders rob white victims 12X more often than in reverse.
