How To Transfer Images From Sony To Your Smartphone

Sony has just updated “Playmemories” to “Imaging Edge Mobile” software. It connects via a WIFI hotspot by scanning the QR code that unites your camera with your smartphone. By doing this, image transfer happens wirelessly, so you can instantly upload your images to Instagram, Facebook, or anywhere in the cloud.

Hello, Thank you very much for this video. I have a problem. My Iphone doe not connect with my camera via this method you show here in the video. My camera does not show this QR code but another code in numbers and letters. My camera is the first camera of sony a7. My iphone does not show my camera. What can I do? I need my camera to be connected with my iphone.

If you do not see the scan code look on your camera screen for the N icon. If that is turned on all you have to do is connect to your cameras WiFi. Then on the app connect using “connect with camera using one touch” when it prompts you to tap your phone. Turn your camera, I have the 5100 to the right side. You will see the same N symbol on your actual camera. point your camera on it and it will upload your photo. No waiting for connection :) if it isn’t on turn it on by going to 1)Wireless
2)one touch (nfc)
You should see the N symbol on top of your screen

There is a MUCH FASTER way -- just hold your phone next to your cameras NFC Antenna and the camera will automatically communicate with your phone / launching the cameras application that's within your phone then your camera automatically transfers the images into your phone

The Imaging Edge Mobile app is not opening the camera on my iPhone to take a photo of the QR Code on the back of my Sony RX10 m4 camera so I’m unable to transfer photos from the camera to my iPhone. Any suggestions?

I've never been able to get it to work. I basically stopped using the camera because the app is terrible and can't get the images out of the camera

This is great, I seem to get very small image files though, even though I select ‘original size’ in the settings. Anything else Im missing? Thnx!

I have the ZV1 and when I try to connect to my iPhone, sometimes Imaging Edge Mobile apps works/connects, sometimes it doesn't. I've tried setting the location, etc. It either works or it doesn't. Super frustrating;(

Hi, camera can’t be pairing / connected with iOS 13.x.x so don’t upgrade your iDevice.
There is another app that can do the job (not from Sony), but I don’t know the name. If someone can help an know it.

Hi Gary, did exactly as shown but when I went into app to scan code I don’t have option or way to scan code. So I entered the code in WiFi setting, accepted code but all I get on camera screen is “sharing” App says iPhone is connected to camera on Connect to Camera page🤷🏻
