macOS Ventura: Top New Features

Apple recently revealed iOS 16, macOS Ventura, and a new MacBook Air. In this video, we're going to cover all the new features of Apple's macOS Ventura like Stage Manager coming this fall.

One issue… I miss the desktop background photo of the place the OS is named after (Catalina and Big Sur had really beautiful photos, especially the dark mode ones.) Those stylized colorful backgrounds for Monterrey and apparently Ventura, are kind of meh.)

Just an interesting fact, but the new system preferences app Harkins back to the old Control Panels app in classic Mac OS versions prior to System 7 (System 1 -6). With System 7 they switch to a folder style view where each Control Panel pane is a separate icon in a folder window view similar to Windows 95 (and later) control panel virtual folder. Mac OS X just refined the look of the System Preference app main pane layout. Will this be better or worse then a single window with a grid a preference pane icons? I can see how always having the complete list of preference panes in a sidebar on the left sVes you the hassle of a back button.

Just an interesting note but Windows 10 switched partially to the same type of layout for it's new Windows Settings app but not all settings have migrated to the new app yet and some remain in the older Control Panels folder and sone are in both places (Get your act together Microsoft !)

Desk view and iMessage features seem like the only thing to look forward to. Even then I probably will never use desk view.

I just installed Ventura on my hackintosh. The new stage manager feature is really good.

I really want to hold onto Monterrey on my M1 Pro. I really feel burned by Apple reducing optimisations for older chips as part of their software. Two options:
1) Stay on the upgrade bandwagon and contribute to e-waste / lose by selling it early, or,
2) Stay on current OS and use it for it's usable life, before deciding on which platform suits you in 2030.
