Specialized Allez Sprint - Review

Here's a comprehensive review on the Specialized Allez Sprint Aluminium Bike.

I'm doing this review comparing the experience (my friends) riding on the Specialized Allez Sprint Frame with other Carbon Frames.

4 of my friends bought this frame and they were very happy with it. Hence...making me think of getting it too.

It's a really aggressive frame, it's actually more aggressive than the tarmac and venge frames. If you want the best out of your Allez Sprint it all depends what components you use. I have 2 Allez bikes one for longer rides and one for races. The setup for longer rides I have my stem a lil higher, and the one for races its lower with the aerofly 25mm rise carbon bars. I'm also running the GP 5000, and that has taken the comfort to the next level.

I'm pretty sure the stiffness of the allez sprint is greater than carbon frames. Carbon frames are better due to reduction in weight and engineered compliance. Aluminum frames have no compliance.

I gotta disagree with him on stiffness. I’m currently 225 lbs I would rate stiffness 4.8 out of 5 there is no flex in the bottom bracket area when I’m really going hard on the flat or uphill. Peter Sagan likes this bike because he said it feels stiffer than the Venge. Also tire selection definitely affects comfort. I have the recently discontinued Performance brand Strada Endure Tires they provide a plush ride noticeably smoother than GatorSkins everyone who rides my bike comments about how smooth it is.

I know this is old thread but fixing to pull trigger on a a sic stealth looking 2017 Allez sprint limited. Full mechanical dura-ace w/ 90mm HED Jet 9 carbon wheels. Just don't want to be to stretched out on 56cm frame. I'm 5'10" on a tall day 😂

Nice information out there now on these bikes... it all depends what style of riding you would like to do actually. But if you like to roll in those long rides, this may not be the ticket. I for one only have two bikes, and my Specialized Tarmac is a bit racy but I have gotten use to using a race type bike for long rides where as an endurance bike (my other bike) would be most proper to use. Once you get the fit correct it feels fantastic, sure my other bike has a less aggressive position, but it weighs more than my Tarmac. I have my eye on the Allez Specialized as well. Only when my Specialized Tarmac dies will I look to get a new bike, the magic number of bikes at this household is two, that's really all I need, forces you to really "get to know" your bikes. Looks cool to see your buddies with the Allez bikes.

Cannondale caad13 coming up...other than that Allez Sprint is the best alu on flats ...caad12 on climbs and all round

Yes this bike is very harsh to ride you can feel them especially at your handlebars but i love it😂

How does the Allez compare to the Emonda ALR? You gave the Allez a 4.0 stiffness, but the ALR a 4.2. Does this mean the ALR would be good in a crit? (punchy, frequent accelerations)

Hi James. I plan to buy a allez sprint. How can I recognize its really a sprint and not a sport o elite, if the frame has not marked as sprint but only I read allez. What is the more visible difference?
