“Looking superior is imperative.” So they’ll grasp at ANY opportunity where they can project an image of superiority. Trying to exploit ANY weakness in you that they think they have identified will be irresistible to them. When you know what to beware of, their tactics become so obvious as to be pathetic.

That means they will also never apologize, so there is little reason to try and have an honest conversation. Don't share your feelings, emotions, and thoughts because they will just use them against you. Show no emotion, be factual, and say as little as possible. Just remember, everything you say and do can and will be used against you.

Arguing with a narcissist: I'd bring up something he did that hurt me, then he'd say, "That never happened". Two minutes later he'd say, "The only reason that happened was, then he'd accuse me of something that didn't happen.

I stayed with him because I was young and inexperienced, and I thought loyalty was important. But once he shouted at me in my own home, and refused to apologise for it, then I ended it with him.

Then he pushed his way into my home and assaulted me. That was 20 years ago and I'm so relieved he's out of my life. Life with a narcissist is not living, it's just abuse, and people are best off leaving their narc.
