I'm Spending An Entire Year on One World | January Edition

I think Terraria players often speed run the game to Moonlord and never take their time on their worlds. I want to change that. So, over the course of a year I will be playing on this world with each stage of progression being blocked until the start of a new month. Listed below are the progression locks I'll be facing on this journey and come next December we'll finally defeat Moonlord! Hopefully through this challenge we can experience every piece of Terraria's content fully.

June: Queen Slime
July: Mech Bosses
August: Plantera & Golem

December: Lunatic Cultist & Moonlord

I missed most of your streams on this playthrough but I always thought how smart and different this playthrough is, really wanna see more of this in the future!

Obsessed with this idea, I loveeee taking my time with terraria! Just dedicating time to organizing, building, and really adventuring is what makes the game so fun for myself. Excited to see how this turns out!!

LOVE this concept. Almost all my playthrough's are slower-paced, but this is a neat idea for limiting what you can do for longer, to explore even more.

But I am slightly confused. You don't need the pick from either of the two evils to get your first gun. Bombs work perfectly fine for getting to the first orb to get your gun. Not even dynamite, just, the regular bombs you find in pots or chests. Or is that what you meant by "locked behind" - as in purposely put it behind a wall to better fit the spirit of you idea. There is another option, but it actually IS locked behind your first boss fight; and that's purification powder to get to the orbs with a regular pick. Either way, this is a very fun idea.

I might have to try something similar with whatever the next update ends up being. Current plan is explained by the name I'm giving that next world, "Oops, All Music Boxes", and the character that will be running it, "Maestro". ;) But I could extend the rules I'll be playing by, to include slower progression. :)

Though, I am chuckling a little, because if you had started in December, you would have had a chance of finding a Red Ryder BB Gun, from the holiday drops. But by the time you make it to the next December, that poor l'il BB Gun will be woefully under-powered. lol

I’m not a fan of speeding through worlds which is usually what happens when I play with friends. However, when I’m playing solo I like to kill every boss, do every event, do daily fish quests, and get as many collectibles from bosses and weapons for my class to take my time. Only thing I don’t do is build, not my forte.

It's partially because I don't get much time to play games but it took me about 3 years to beat my main expert mode world. I finally beat Moon Lord back in June after creating the world just after 1.4 released. My world's map is almost entirely revealed.

It’s cool seeing you make different builds and try new stuff out. Every play through I just pick a warrior and never try new stuff

Sometimes when i play Terraria, i just forget about the progression and lose myself in the base construction part of the game.
I can spend hours just trying to construct a good looking world for my NPC's. I like doing some roleplay too in order to immerse myself into the world.

I made an underground house for the demolitionist since he had voiced multiple complaints about his living quarters above ground. So i struck a deal with him.
I would make a house for him to his liking underground. But as a repayment, he would be responsible for doing maintanence work on the underground railroad network.
It was a deal and he never made a complaint again.

Terraria is a masterpiece.

Im new to the channel, i love terraria and this is the best idea ive heard from this game. It keeps everything fresh and lets you hunts for new idea. Its so perfect
