I think Terraria players often speed run the game to Moonlord and never take their time on their worlds. I want to change that. So, over the course of a year I will be playing on this world with each stage of progression being blocked until the start of a new month. Listed below are the progression locks I'll be facing on this journey and come next December we'll finally defeat Moonlord! Enjoy the Terraria experiment of One Year One World

January: King Slime & Eye of Cthulhu
February: Brain of Cthulhu & Goblin Invasion
March: Queen Bee
April: Skeletron & Deerclops
May: Wall of Flesh & Pirate Invasion
June: Queen Slime
July: Mech Bosses
August: Plantera & Golem
September: Frost & Pumpkin Moon
October: Duke Fishron & Martian Madness
November: Empress of Light
December: Lunatic Cultist & Moonlord

This is a cool series - I’ll have to look back at what I missed!

“Deerclops feels like a mod boss, like he doesn’t belong…” I agree, it feels like he’s more fit for a place where you should avoid starving or something

Hey brother. Been doing something similar to this but in Calamity mod. For each two bosses I defeat, I have to build one thing. It sounds like nothing serious but most of my build take around a week. Also it's even more intense in my earlier MMFTW playthrough, since I couldn't get passed Skeletron I just built a lot and now I have eleven builds pre-skeletron

Just subbed and decided to do this challenge going from May 2023 to April 2024. Excited to see where both of our journeys go! Looking forward to the next episode!

i want to take my time on worlds like this when they have the otherworldly music, something about it just makes me wanna appreciate the little things about the game, y'know

what surprised me the most was that you didnt know where the stylist spawns and it actually made me question my knowledge of the game and that i think i might know more than the regular terraria player
Anyway great series cant wait to see what is in store for the next month

Cool series! I'm a casual Terraria player and the game is so fascinating to me. Seeing you go through it so thoroughly shows me things I hadn't even known about yet. :D Good luck carrying on through the year!

This series is spectacular, so entertaining man!

Edit: I just realised how underrated this man is, while I was watching this I thought he would for sure have over 100k. Everyone subscribe rn!

This is a cool idea! I like the floating island main base that you made with the cloud blocks!

One thing i can suggest for pre WoF or just after it, to make some protection trenches around your bases and maybe Jungle. If you're gonna spend a year in HM, the biome spread is going to be hell of a thing!

I love the idea of this series! Especially since it's something I've been thinking a lot about lately. I feel like just about everyone speedruns Terraria and Minecraft these days, meanwhile I just want to take my time playing both games, and not rush through them

this is really cool bro i really admire the dedication, normally i finish a world in a week and dont play it again but this has inspired me to actually take the beauty of the game and cherish it. its a very unique and brilliant game

Heck yeah, great video to watch! Funny enough... i ALWAYS play Terraria this way. I rarely rush anything, and i have "checks" that i need to accomplish before making progress...
Just to mention a few: i want both oceans explored, and a protective barrier built all around them before beating the wall of flesh, so that they don't get corrupted. All of the easily accessible corruption needs to be explored as well, and one altar marked so i don't destroy it by accident - this is to save it and use it as a crafting station. Oh and i want at least a few Pylons and a few improvised arenas built as soon as possible, in various parts of the world!
Looking forward to more videos from you! :)

Imma give you a tip about the dungeon if you ever want to do this, but if you collect 250 dungeon bricks, place them around you in the UNDERGROUND biome, then this will meet every requirement for a dungeon biome, except ONE thing, which this one thing is a special dungeon wall with CURSED in the beginning of the name. And in order to get it, just toss dungeon brick walls into the shimmer to get their cursed variants. Then, the last requirement is standing in front of these walls, and that's a dungeon biome! Although in order for enemies to spawn, well they can only spawn in front of dungeon walls too so yeah.

the spots around the aether looks weird because its just a bunch of polka dots on top of stone, if you maybe added some pink blocks inbetween with a bit more texture or variety, you could maybe add the gemspark blocks as little streaks to make it look like its flowing through the cracks of the stone

Deerclops becomes invincible when you get too far away, but I think you mostly figured that out.
You are criminally underrated. Great vid!
