2021 Buick Envision Test Drive Review: Ready To Be Noticed

Always a competent SUV, the #Buick #Envision always struggled to stand out. A brand-new Envision has now arrived for 2021, completely ditching the previous model's styling for a much more noticeable design. Is it enough to be noticed this time?

I did a test drive few days ago. The car is beautiful, sporty looking. Drives smooth but a bit too responsive/jumpy even on tour/normal mode, not even sport.

The driver seat feels like a cockpit, snug fit and comfy. One thing I felt weird was the brake pedal. It's positioned so high, protruding way more than the gas pedal. So my foot has to be adjusted significantly when moving back and forth between the 2 pedals. Also the pressure feels different. The brake feels stiff while the gas feels very smooth.

Engine RPO changed from LTG to LSY. The LSY had a smaller, more responsive turbo. Most customers aren’t whining out the motor so a more responsive engine at the low end is better for most.

How about a hybrid for decent fuel economy, automatic lane centering, and an all digital dash? Then maybe it could compete with the new Hyundai Tucson.

It’s great looking for a Buick but it’s certainly not luxury. It’s a Chevy quality for Buick price.
