I basically had a silent heart attack. I had one symptom. Difficulty breathing. I am surprised they didn't list it. It's supposedly the symptom that many women have. 🤷‍♀️👀

I asked my cardiologist if he's ever cured anyone of hypertension and he said yes, you have to go on a diet, lose weight and keep it off, then you won't have to take the pills. So that's what I did and now I'm off alot of my med's. I now check my blood pressure every day and it's nice and low.

My mother suffered of heart disease and high blood pressure and took multiple medications for 17 years. And finally she went keto 3 years ago. And she is finally off all medication and is healthy as a horse at age 79. She eats mostly animal diet. She is never sick! Her joint pains have gone. And her blood markers are the best in 40+ years.

"Skinny is not necessarily healthy" as a skinny person, I can agree whole heartedly with this.

"Up to one glass a day could potentially be good for your heart". If I am correct, a Lancet study has recently found that there is no safe amount of alcohol to drink. I've seen explanations that suggest the 'beneficial' effects of 1 glass of wine for health was because studies had not removed abstaining alcoholics from the 'no alcohol' group, essentially including people at higher risks of mortality due to damage sustained while they were drinking, with people who just avoid alcohol. This would certainly explain the apparent parradox.

"Obesity is not necessarily unhealthy" I'd really like an explanation for that one. Just incase I can be obese and healthy someday.

Smoking is the one one thing that my grandparents explicitly ask their kids and grandkids not to do. They are big believers that you are going to make mistakes and learn from those mistakes so for them to ask that of us has always been a big deal. I am quite proud of them both for being able to quit smoking about fifteen years ago. But it took them years to be able to get to the point where they had cut down in the amount they smoked to be able to quit. They started smoking as teenagers when it was perfectly fine to smoke like a chimney and they smoked for decades, so it taking so long to quit makes a lot of sense.

Sorry to say these cardiologists are still living in Ancel Keys era calling food cholesterol bad 😔

These ladies are accomplished cardiologists, and I listened to their video, not a mention of sugar, insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome just the anti fat put forward bu Ansel Keys…Yes they mention smoking. These ladies are not nutritionists. Has the medical profession moved forward in its anti fat thinking at all?

No. 1 glass of day is NOT good for your heart. There is no "J" shape in the mortality curve, it's linear. More alcohol (of all kinds) is associated with more negative outcomes. The only reason why people who abstain from alcohol APPEAR to have higher mortality is because many people abstain because they ALREADY have health issues.

Because of this, researchers used to believe people who drink, but rarely, were the healthiest populations. But when you account for the above, it's actually the abstainers who have the lowest mortality related risk profile.

This is definitely the most controversial of these videos I've seen.
- Negative shorthand portrayal of Keto diet
- View that cholesterol is inherently bad
- Further saying LDL cholesterol is "bad" - Yes it is reiterated like that for the layman, but I expected more detail from these experts
- Obesity is not unhealthy (said as a general statement when we know it is only in very specific niche cases this is true)
- Trans fats cannot be broken down by the body (Yeah, it's really bad to eat but you cannot just blatantly lie to scare people)
This is unacceptable.

Just my body and my experience but I ate a minimum of 6 eggs every day for a year. Some days were 9-12 and I only missed 4 days. Had blood tested twice during the middle and end with no significant change in cholesterol or blood pressure. My HDL went up 15%, LDL actually went down 5%, triglycerides were about the same but healthy levels. I will say I live an active lifestyle and only eat whole foods. I bring this up because eggs get a bad wrap from doctors that are using their knowledge of cholesterol they learned 10-15 years ago. This is way more complex than good vs bad cholesterol but it's too hard to explain to the masses without them misinterpreting the information to eat a McDonald's egg McMuffin every day. Eggs are an extremely valuable food source. Don't sleep on them lol

There is absolutely no mention of sugar being bad for your heart. Even though everybody knows that hyper processed foods are bad and they're all loaded with

Like most physicians, their knowledge of nutrition and its effect on health seems limited to that one class they took in school 15 years ago. In each of these varied Science Insider series I am finding gross errors such that I had to unsubscribe.

If you're going to do a debunked video you need to include links to all the studies that supposedly back up the claims made by your guests.

I died of a heart attack last year. The HA lasted four days from Tuesday to Friday - it felt exactly like a sprained shoulder. The ache was in the joint, nowhere else. I asked the doctor for pain killers as it had been going on for so long and he said go to A&E (ER to Americans) so I did. I had a cardiac arrest about an hour later, I was dead for 8 minutes.
The world-leading cardiology department at Wythenshawe hospital saved my life.
I quit smoking in 2008 and I put on 3 stone. As a naturally skinny person, I believe this was the source of my problem.
Stopping smoking was a fantastic decision for my general health; but I let myself put on weight quickly and that is a huge no-no. It collected in my arteries.

So, my symptoms in their entirety were severe indigestion on Tuesday, left shoulder joint pain all week, and death on Friday.

I listen to a neurobiologist that states eggs, including the yolk, are good for brain health. I would assume that moderation is the key, similar to many things in life.
