For those, if the force restart doesnt work, Dont panic. Keep force restarting for 9 to 10 times continuously. It worked for me. Initially I paniced that I might have to lose all the data as the 1st step(force restart didnt work). Then I did it for 7 to 8 times continuously and my mobile started. Common reason for this issue is Lack of storage space. So once your mobile starts, remove some unnecessary apps, backup the data, and always keep some free space in mobile.

If you dont want to repair it using iTunes, you should let it rest overnight while it's charging. I did that and the phone formatted itself with icloud in it. The last step is to restore using iTunes. I hope this helps

My iPhone X is finished as of tonight. My dumbass never freed enough space when I had countless opportunities. The worst part is I had 63K photos on the phone without being backed up. After many failures, the phone is in limbo in the apple logo, I have tried step 1 and it doesn't seem to work. I am contemplating just getting the phone reset at an Apple store and trying to upgrade to one of the newest phones.
