My stepdad showed us this song and we listened to it constantly while growing up- road trips, camping, at the beach. Always singing it at the top of our lungs. My stepdad just passed away this Father’s Day, his name was Blue and this song is even closer to my heart now than I ever thought any song could be.

I’m 40 years old and I remember hearing this song back in the day, but I haven’t played it in years, that is - until the other day, when my 10 year old daughter played it for me in the car and said it was currently trending on TikTok and then she expressed to me how much she loves it. I come close to tears anytime this songs plays because i have a little blue bird nightlight that my uncle gave me because of this song. i have very fond memories of me not being able to sleep without the nightlight, and i cant help but start to cry because I remember sleeping with my parents and asking my dad to plug it in, to which he would comply, i always slept soundly with that, feeling safe and full of comfort. And i still to this day have this nightlight. I do always smile when i hear this song though, but i am unable to deny the fact tears are welling up in my eyes because of how sweet it was of my uncle to do that for me. :)
