I LOVE this jam! First time I heard it was 1989, when MTV was actually MTV. Dr. Demento was hosting a "Top 20 Most Demented Videos" one night including such gems as "Take The Skinheads Bowling", Devo's "Love Without Anger", Men Without Hats "Safety Dance", Mojo Nixon & Skid Roper's classic "Elvis Is Everywhere" - leading up to the #1 place of "Fishheads."
This song was #3 that night - probably because of the video - but this tune is one I could & have listened to over & over again.

This song is a brilliant time capsule of what the 1980's sounded like; I'm not sure there's another song from back then that captures the era quite so well as this one.

Wonderful single. Heard this on the chart shows when it came out. Went out and bought the LP from Probe in Liverpool and played it zillions of times. Everybody dies frustrated and sad and that is beautiful. What a lyric!
