My intent is only to watch 12.5 videos, but Black Tesla provides such a great commentary that I click whenever he posts a video.

As a person on HW3, I personally would like to see you continuing to do your testing on your current car, even after version 12.5 of FSD, so that it can be determined just how far HW3 can take us. Big fan of your channel.

I think you're the first YouTuber to address that question!
Thanks!

You’re the only FSD reviewer I trust at the moment. Shame you’re delaying in receiving the update.

The problem is that some of us are still stuck on 12.3.6

As always you have by far the most measured and well articulated takes on FSD. Joy listening to you consider the state of things, and what the future holds. Thanks for continuing to put your stuff out there!

You hit it on the nail. Tesla FSD is at the point where you have to find that middle ground and balance attentiveness with being a semi passive driver and let the robot do the work

Wish in the interim, us non-influencers with HW3, could also get 12.4.3 rather than 12.3.6 while we wait.

I gues it's GPT-4o vs GPT-4o-mini kinda thing. It will run on HW3 as a smaller version yet will likely still be really good -- very comparable to HW4 etc. Will be very curious to see!

Thank you! Someone who thinks the car should drive the speed limit unless traffic or safety dictates either faster or slower! So many people look at going the fastest possible without getting a ticket - indicating no respect for the law. Following the law should be the default unless the situation requires adjustment.

Thanks for your update and explanation! I was wondering why I didn’t see a FSD 12.5 video from “Black Tesla”. Hope you and your family had a great vacation. I look forward to your next test drive video whenever that happens. Best wishes.

Yep, looks like we will be waiting for 12.5 with our HW3 cars (2022 MSLR). I have been driving on 12.3.6 for quite a while now and would really like to get an improved version of FSD.

FYI - 12.5 came to the 'new' Model 3 as well so it's deployed to HW4 (release notes mention the Cybertruck)
Hope HW3 gets it soon because I believe it's a significant leap forward when compared to 12.3.6.
BTW, I keep saying it and repeating it: for years already: none of the HW3 cars will ever be a Robotaxi. Not sure about HW4/AI4 either but we shall see.

Great posts and glad you said something about the current HW3 folks stuck on non-12.5.x versions. I get flashbacks to the early days of personal computers. You buy one and a few years later it doesn’t run the current software. The only difference is instead of a couple thousand of dollars, it’s $50k-$90k and much harder to swallow. Keep posting the good stuff..

I've been using 12.5 for a few days. Pretty impressive, but has some odd regressions. Still issues with dips, drainages, which is a major issue here in Utah. But overall, plenty of zero disengagement drives, although I often have to hit accelerator since speed control still drives too slow. Hoping for major enhancements in 12.5.X versions. Safe roads!

First of all, thank you for your content, it is appreciated👍👏
I was waiting for you to drop a video and did wonder if you had the right hardware.
I suppose one question is which hardware package will be the one when FSD crosses that threshold and is authentically achieved??🤔
You are doing a very good job, in my opinion, chronicling the evolution of this technology.
Safe travels!👍

First time ever that I have a release before you.

I suspect you may be correct, but that raises the question of whether the right thing for Tesla to do is compensate people who have a HW3 car with fully paid FSD. It was promoted and sold as a beta that would soon become actual FSD. Very few people would pay thousands for a beta anything if it they knew that the production version was not going to work on the car they bought. Nor can everyone afford to buy a new car to what really is not FSD.

I have high hopes but FSD12.4 and apparently 12.5 is still doing things that are both illegal and unsafe. At two different intersections v12.4 decided to handle a merge by going straight into the turn only lane and playing chicken with the car on the right when the lane ended. Because there was no oncoming traffic I let the car proceed only taking control when we crossed the intersection and tried to go on the wrong side of the double yellow, all while staying next to car on the right. My wife was in the car and she wants me to just wait for a good version of FSD.

I have a suspicion that HDW3 version of 12.x won't be in wide release before October, when the transfer window for FSD is closed.

Damn it’s a shame, I’ve been waiting for your review because you’re by far the most detailed and unbiased reviewer.

I like it... HW4 Tesla to keep us educated and informed. MYLR here with HW3... this is giving me ideas. I think the hardware might need my validation, but not sure if I can sell it. Let us know how it goes!
