Waymo seems to be the gold standard for autonomous driving because they have the absolute best record. 17, 060 miles per "intervention" is insane. When you talk about the Waymo wrong-way incident, construction (likely weird) was involved as well, whereas for Tesla, there was none.

The video from Whole Mars Catalog was from a Mercedes without driver pilot. It is the normal assistant like the AP1 uses. You can see it on the wheel...

I enjoyed this, although I'd like to see more thorough fact checking. Maybe this is even worth a follow-up video segment - from what I understand the WMC Mercedes vs Tesla video was pretty embarrassingly biased towards Tesla, as he was basically using a non-level-3 version of DrivePilot and trying to activate it on city streets which it is not designed for. He was basically intentionally misusing the system and never compared the things it's actually built for to Tesla.

Obviously you can argue Tesla is ahead because it can do city streets well, but a comparison of the best examples of the two systems would be much more informative, even if DrivePilot has more limitations.

I'm interested in more of this type of digest video but only if it comes with a bit of journalism or someday even your own test footage to try to bring us an unbiased look into competing options... citing a whole mars video is about the most biased thing you can do 😂

Funny point about blog website image driving on left hand side of road. The main website has a different "corrected" image. Maybe trying to communicate universality of their approach (unlikely). More likely the web design team asked for some images of path visualization and they got back a few different ones, and decisions for what to use where were made on aesthetic merits alone.
