Big Tesla fan here. Been paying for FSD for several months now. It's incredibly impressive but not close to robo taxi imo. It drives like my teenage children drove when they were first learning to drive. I think it does better in city environments. I live in a rural area. FSD is overly cautious at intersections, occasionally slows below speed limit for unknown reasons, defaults to 25mph on roads without speed limit signs (when it is clearly NOT 25 mph), definitely still in need of pretty constant supervision. Is it a great driving aid? Yes! I've used it for long trips from Florida to Michigan. It's really quite good. But, can it drive around without intervention, no way. It will probably get there eventually but its gonna take some time.

In New Zealand and had a 2018 Tesla X. In 2020 I purchased FSD. Last year traded to Tesla Y and transferred FSD. I would really love some of FSD functionality. I understand some prep work has been done here.

I’ve taken only one short drive with v12.5.1.1, yesterday, and I am concerned because unlike all earlier v12 releases it has failed to stay in my lane on the marginally marked narrow winding roads near my home. The windshield was a bit dirty, so I’ll be cleaning that off before trying it again, tomorrow. Other than running over the between lane reflectors several times, the drive was excellent.

On the hand held stop sign. The sign man flips the sign from STOP to SLOW and the car then immediately plans a forward, safe route. At least it appears to be that way.

I would love to see a pay by mile price for FSD once they get it perfected. At 71 I don't drive all that much anymore so a pay by mile would be great. Maybe 10 to 25 cents a mile or something like that.

By the way manual hand held signs have been recognized by FSD for awhile. AI Driver's video is not news. Besides the key improvement needed is supporting hand gestures by police/road crews since in my state hand held signs are almost never used. Plus if you disobey a police officer trying to manage traffic you'll be in trouble. This capability has to be supported for Robotaxi. I encounter hand gestures once or twice a week and always have to disengage if I'm the first car in line.

FSD to cybertruck is the “beginning of the end” for Tesla’s robots. Photons in, inference out in new form factor(CT= ai agent disguised as a truck). Imagine the ability to transfer inference to any ai embodied agent regardless of form.

Pricing on FSD for existing customers is one of the things I’m really uncertain about. From Tesla’s perspective, it makes sense to discount the subscription to whatever will make them the most money overall but if it’s too cheap it’s screwing over all the people who purchased FSD outright.

Also curious if they will just sell new cars for $150k+ or make an equivalent FSD subscription mandatory or what.
