Game Theory: What ARE Minecraft Creepers?!?

Minecraft is STILL one of the hottest games out there, and yet the Creeper, the game's mascot, is still a walking mystery. What is this Minecraft menace? Why does the Creeper explode? And why do Creepers always explode around ME? Well, Minecraft Steve, prepare yourself because it's time we figure out the truth of this walking green time bomb!

And you know what absolutely PROVES this lore behind the creepers? Their appearance in Minecraft Dungeons. Creepers are introduced in Creeper Woods and Soggy Swamp. Woods and a SWAMP, the most common places for moss growth and peat bogs. Their new texture also seems to be more moss-like, as seen if you compare the Dungeons texture to the Minecraft texture. And when the Jungle Awakens DLC pack released, this theory just turned into facts. Creepers are the most common enemy in Jungle Awakens, and the only other mobs in the DLC are undead enemies with LITERAL MOSS GROWING OUT OF THEM, and plants. Sentient...plants. The Creeper seems to be the oddball here. But no, the creeper was the OG plant monster. Get out of here, Leapleaf and Whisperer!
