South Texas dealerships placed the very few of the Lightnings to their far side, more hidden, spaces. The F-250 diesels are now front and center with many gas F-150 behind them.

Lithium batteries are so toxic, explosive and expensive. Never will I park one of these type of cars in my garage.

Definitely not an Alaskan rig.Bad battery life in the cold. Bad at keeping your body warm in the cold, if you want to go far. Ditto with running the windshield defroster. Bad at hauling loads any distance. Can’t throw a couple of 5 gallon batteries in the back for when you’re back in the boonies and far away from a gas station. Most trucks are parked outside year around. The extra weight isn’t a benefit when mud crawling. Not really seeing any upside to them.

Still laughing about the Tesla owner who paid $2, 000 for a gasoline powered electric generator that he carries in the trunk. Why not just buy a Hybrid and drive like the wind?

By far the cheapest house battery you can buy.
A tesla wall battery (almost the cheapest but by far the best) will cost you about a buck per kilowatt installed.
Those Trucks have 96-105 kilowatt hour battery packs and you can find them used for under 40k. Installation with the part is about 3k.
Youre under half the cost per unit of energy to power your house.

If youre into being off grid and self reliant this is a great product. Notice how i didnt say a great truck.

Maybe this lightning is not meant for the traditional Ford fanboys! I am a EV driver and I bought one, first Ford ever! I love it! I take a few trips to Alabama every year, no problems charging when I stop. If you drive one you will change your mind. Scotty does not want to admit that he likes it.

It's the range that killed it for me. Why can't they make one with a very small gas engine, to keep the batteries charged up, that gets 60 or more MPG. Now that's an electric vehicle I would consider.
