I was taking amlodipine for almost a year. I had muscle aches and my stomach was very sensitive making it hard to eat a lot of foods. I don't have angina so I told my Dr I wasn't taking it any more. Best decision I made.

My husband died July 7, 2023 from complications of taking Amlodipine. He was very sick before given the medication. It was given to him for Afib; however, he should never have been given the medication outside a hospital setting nor given such massive dosage. He manifested most all the side effects listed. I understand it has helped many people and that is great. It just shouldn’t be given to some patients without careful consideration of the patients medical history.

Last year in Burma my blood pressure spiked into the 200s systolic. The doctor at the hospital added Amlodipine to my Losartan regimen. The BP decreased, for one reason or another, and I stayed on the Amlodipine. But here in Morocco 6 months later I was feeling chronically fatigued. I inadvertently failed to take the Amlodipine for a couple of days and the fatigue was gone. I checked my BP for days after and it was excellent, 122/64 etc. ( I’m 75) so I decided to stay off it. Certainly not a scientific study but I’m going to continue not taking the Amlodipine. It feels wonderful to feel well again.

I used to take Amlodipine and Simvastatin (20mg), NO alcohol, NO viagra. But I suffered edema of my ankles and lower legs. My GP changed the the Amlodipine to Lercanidipine (10mg). The edema slowly disappeared. It took at least three months, but now the edema has completely disappeared.

I have taken amlodipine for years and have not had any problems with this medication. After losing weight and retirement, my blood pressure decrease to a level where I only have to take 5 mg at night. I don’t eat grapefruit. I only eat fruits and vegetables, I make sure I stay hydrated. I guess it’s not for everyone.

I've been on Amlodipine for over 10 years and had no problems at all until I was prescribed Atorvastatin. After a few weeks of being on a 10mg dose of Atorvastatin, I began to get the most excruciating pain in my midriff. It was so bad it felt like I was being cut in half by a sword. I've never know pain like it. I was discussing it with a friend of mine who asked if I had recently been put on a statin. When I said yes, he said that will be the cause and advised me to stop taking the statin immediately, so I did. Within a few days the pain began to ease and I've not been troubled with it since stopping the statin. Cause and effect? My conclusion is, not all medications are good for you and you have to make up your own mind about whether to take them.

Always remember, you as the patient do not have to endure debilitating side effects, if ever in that situation, inform your doctor for something else, rather than stopping on your own

Thank u for the video, am on Amlodipine since early July, 2023. I haven't experienced any effects yet. Atleast I rest, and ever since I started Amlodipine the BP has come down. Before I was taking Moduratic and de BP could go high and sometimes 180/107, 174/117, 156/102 and below like 96/70 extra and now with Amlodipine it's 135/90, 126/80, 135/90. Well the side effects you have said, I haven't yet experienced them. Thank you for advise, pliz keep teaching us about how to control BP. I need alit of rest, I have stress and pressure because of family issues and u cannot run away from that. God bless you and thank you. Zambia. 🙏🙏😇

I had been taking amlodipine a number of years ago. When BP was raises Dr prescribed 10mg. Within a day or two my feet swelled and I struggled to get my feet into my shoes. Dr changed medication.

I’ve been taking Amlodipine for two to three years now and I was warned to keep off grape fruits and grape fruit juice. However, I wasn’t told why. I believe it’s because grape fruit can lower your blood pressure. Wouldn’t it be better then to just have a grapefruit every other day and not bother with the amlodipine? Strange, how I was never told that!
