So true! I do this all the time. When I want to see things clearly, when I need help with some issues, when I struggle. I call it talking with God. The only thing you have to do to get a honest answer (God is always honest) is to stop listening to your own thoughts for a moment and let God do the talking. It is as simple as a conversation and doesn’t need hours of meditation. Just close your eyes, ask the question and listen to the clear ‘voice/pictures/personal symbols’ God gives you. Don’t listen to the muttering (that’s just you😉You’ll learn the difference soon enough)

I've found an effective way that works for me is what Jordan references as a prayer.

It's an insight and I read. I read into characters and when I attach to the characters I ask why do I do that. It's how I've come to embrace my shadow

Great advice. Also I have learnt the power of words and how they are spells. We spell all the time and do not take care in the words we speak out loud as sounds. Never pray/prey. 🙏

self awareness is a doubled edge sword you know what's flawed in you but if you don't know how to fix it it will cripple your thoughts, like if somehow you have bad teeth but you keep genuinely smiling with no problems but once you realize that you're teeth are bad you won't smiling as often and when you do it will be an awkward one, it's an example but it applys to so many things in you, that's why dumb people live happy not realizing what's wrong
