Footage of Al Neri visiting Meyer Klingman, the owner of the gambling license for Michael's new hotel, at the casino, and asking him to leave. Klingman resists, so Neri chases him through the casino into a closed auditorium, which is rehearsing for a cabaret, until Neri threatens him with a heavy chair, at which point Klingman finally capitulates and leaves the hotel. Neri then sits down in the seats and signals for the performers to go on with their rehearsal. Sourced from the 2016 HBO stream of The Godfather: The Complete Epic 1901-1959. Captured in 720p.

Just when I think I've watched all the deleted scenes, another one pulls me back in.

The boys already knew who Al was. Klingman was flying solo.

I can't get enough of Al Neri. He's such a fascinating character in the book and brought to life by actor R. Bright beautifully.

1:27 I like how Al Neri gently puts back down the chair as it is now property of The Corleone Family.

I love how he sits down to watch the rehearsals when he’s done his job

I'm actually glad this scene was cut, by giving him this sort of dialogue, it really does take away a lot from the Character of Neri who barely spoke in the entire movie and remained this nefarious button man who remained in the shadows and did Michael's bidding without question.

I love this scene. Klingman is so arrogant at first until he realizes his bouncers were not going to protect him.

Even Neri can take the time to relax and enjoy a rehearsal show after a bit of intimidation.

Al Neri and Rocco Lampone were the quintessential button men. They hardly ever spoke, they followed orders, they were highly trusted, and while Rocco dies assassinating Roth, Al Neri lives a long life and retires.

While Al Neri's backstory in the book was interesting, in the movies he was more intimidating as a silent enforcer. That's probably why the final cuts kept his dialog to a minimum.

The the most underdeveloped character in The godfather would love to have seen more of Al Neri

I just love the whole tempo of this scene. Al comes polite but forceful, you will do this, I'm even giving you a few days so you can leave with your dignity. Oh you want to give me lip, no more mr. nice guy.
It's always hilarious when fake tough people, meet real tough people.

Al Neri was an ex cop who came to the attention of Michael In particular who was looking for his own personal enforcer. With the death of Luca Bratzie and with his other mafia bosses getting old or possibly looking to betray him, Michael realized he needed muscle. Al Neri as a cop had no problem beating people up. It’s what got him fired and busted. After he got out the Coroline family came calling. Al when he appears solo is without question an extension of Michael’s authority and is best listened to. He was so effective that he remained Michael’s personal bodyguard into the 3rd movie. And anyone who knew who Al worked for knew better then to get in his way

Al Neri is my favorite Godfather character.

It sounded like he was channeling Vito's speaking. He also seemed more intimidating when he didn't speak. I can imagine the big decision to cut this scene given the amount of money spent on it as it looks massive.

On watching this scene a second time I noticed the cops that just stood by while Klingman got assaulted. It's as if they already knew the Corleones were the new bosses.

Bummer they deleted this scene. “You said your name was Klingman” is my favorite line from the whole series

That was a power move if ever I saw one. He didn't sit to enjoy the show, he did it to show everyone that their under new management. Not very subtle of course, but 5 minutes after this wee incident everyone in that casino knows what's what now.

I enjoy this scene. Even though Al Nery is usually quiet. This side of him makes him look more intimidating and interesting.
