Out of all the murder weapons in this franchise, the paddle has to be the hands down funniest.

Working for Don Ciccio, that's a paddling.
Trying to kill me when i was 9, that's a paddling.
Paddling the mob canoe, you better believe that's a paddling.

this should not have been deleted it showed more of Vito's hidden ruthless side, we only saw it once when he gutted Don Ciccio, you could argue that Vito killing Don Fanucci was part of that but that was just business, the whole sequence in Sicily was Personal

1:45 - Vito gave him a paddling he couldn't refuse.

0:50 as someone has written earlier, this is most De Niro noise ever.

Considering the life style he led, Strollo should’ve known that anyone looking for him on a boat wasn’t there to be his friend.

On one hand it was good to see vito's vengeance was not just confined to Don Ciccio but the thugs he used when his father Antonio Andolini, his Brother and Mother were each killed by Don Ciccio. But on the other hand Strollo, being a former henchman for a mafia boss, would not answer any questions of his former job, especially to a stranger.

The last scene was so beautifully shot. There were so many different ways they could have made it work instead of a paddling loool

"The one who worked for don Ciccio of Corleone?". Two connected reasons why Strollo would never have answered 'that's me' to Vito's question: 1) Omerta' 2) A man with a past like Strollo's would have been immediately suspicious of any stranger who came looking for him, especially if the stranger actually mentioned his having worked for don Ciccio. Coppola was right to sacrifice this scene, even though the cinematography was beautiful. Part of the greatness of Godfather I and II was the director's sustained sense of realism down to the smallest details.

The deleted footage from the GF films is better than what gets kept in in most modern movies!

The music in the 2nd scene is so haunting. The cinematography is amazing as well

if someone asked if you worked for a mob boss in a certain city and he is a stranger that would normally put you on high alert vito didn't really hide or deguise his intentions at all

The subtitles are completely wrong. In Italian, he says "L'amico nostro s'incazza veramente se la vostra famiglia dona protezione a Vito Andolini", which translates "Our friend will get very angry if your family gives protection to Vito Andolini".

If you're wondering why the old strollo didn't do anything, simply because they're already old, I think they're over 80. They probably thought that that family was erased, and that they no longer had to worry about anything.

That was ruthless and cold blooded.
I approve👍

They should have kept these scenes leading up to Ciccio’s death…
