They need to have all three movies packaged with all the deleted scenes put back in. I'll buy that in a heartbeat.

This was the moment that Michael became The Dogfather.

What a handsome man Pacino was back in the day!

The film needed more of this. Time with michael for us to be on his side, it would have left a deeper mark on us by the end

This could have been added. It gives an aspect of Michael's self reflection, his humility and his thoughts on what he plan to do on the following day near that lake. Hence the sence change to the festivities the next day.

These definitely show a more humane side of Michael rather then the robot we saw in the movie…

Why did they not keep this scene in? We can see how far away his humanity is. Can’t make out his face, can barely even make out his silhouette. But in the far away recesses of his conscience, there’s still that humanity. It’s showing us that who he longs to be is so far removed from what he has become. And then the close up of his saddened face hits you like a ton of bricks. He realizes how far gone he is, perhaps even glimpsing at just how much further he will go as the movie proceeds.

That shot of Michael near the water. Idk what it is about part 2 but Al Pacino had a certain look to him. Youthful as hell N gloomy...even more then in Scarface. He looks extremely young.

Al Pacino had to look backed on this film and said "damn, I looked good back then😈" handsome guy. I see why Coppola wouldn't just let Pacino walk. This role was pefect for him.

I like how from a distance as a silhouette, Michael looks happy and animated. It’s only when they zoom in on his face we see how miserable he is.

This is the clip that should have stayed.

Glad they removed this, as well as Sonny's daughter's scene, Michael had lost his soul and those scenes conflicted with that image. Also, sociopath mob bosses near water showing more affection for animals then humans? I remember when that animal Corleone used to shoot people from a distance in WW2 and as far as I'm concerned he should still be there

Michael in a merriment moment playing with a dog by a pier? Who would know this stoned cold Don showered compassion with a four-legged house pet than the enemies he instilled fear and death without a sliver of remorse toward them.

Gorgeous composition but it does seem strange to see Michael so physically animated.

It absolutely blows the SAGA cut, which in my opinion is not only 7 hours of perfect film making but is also the best version, IS NOT available for purchase or rent.
I saw it the first time as a young man on HBO and have wanted it ever since

This looks life a very "ruff" cut

There's another deleted scene of Vito killing one of the elderly bodyguards in Sicily on the water with a paddle. This scene reminded me of that because of the twilight/sunrise view over the water and silhouettes in action. I wonder if deleting one factored into the decision of deleting the other.

It really ties into the third movie’s ending when he dies with only a dog with him

And Tony Soprano had his ducks in the swimming pool. Maybe these bosses weren't so bad after all.

Decades later David Chase used this idea with his animal-compassionate Don, Tony Soprano.
