My ideal PKM solution would be something like Logseq running inside Evernote, and this comes very close to that. I appreciate the visual layout (somewhat similar to Notion), daily pages and back-linking (Logseq), robust PDF and image storage (Evernote). The object types even have something similar to Tana's supertags. The seemingly small team and VERY small online community surrounding Capacities has me nervous though. It doesn't seem to be generating much buzz as I think it should.

the Daily Notes is what's sucking me in. their backbone for you to never lose any of your notes is the "Dates Created" calendar feature. It's tucked away out of sight, but I've been finding it friendly to get over any writer's block so I can fulfill Tiago's "Capture" stage in BA2ndB. I couldn't get into Notion, bc I want Graphs for backlinking. But I want images, unlike what Obsidian offers... I can't easily sign up for Tana or Scrintal, so Capacities has been here for me 🙂

I've been using this app for a few weeks and I love it! This has been the first note taking app to stick for me. The Daily notes is the best feature, it's best for note takers who are more like the lib rain note taking archetype. The app needs a lot of work and there are a lot of bugs but the future of this app seems bright

Reminds me of Anytype, which also has a Notion feel.

Not sure this video really does credit to the app. It’s not trying to be Notion (why does every app have to be compared to Notion?). This can be very advanced fro PKM (certainly more so than Notion) and is much more practical on a day to day basis with the daily notes. The Capacities team are clear on their principles as well - worth a read if you’re interested in what they are trying to build.

The comment about mobile isn’t right - it’s in alpha but available to everyone paying and there is a desktop app for everyone too. The app is being developed at pace. It’s not perfect, but then no app is, and the team are very responsive.

On price - only you can tell whether it’s good value for you, but the team are independent (like the Reflect team) and personally I think that’s worth supporting.

Sorry Francesco, but I feel this video is really lightweight and also inaccurate in places. I appreciate you were trying to keep it short, but this isn’t to your usual standard for me.

The do have a desktop app and also a decent mobile version of the web app. I've been lightly using it for a few weeks.

As someone who dropped off the Notion train after transferring from student-life to work-life (in favour of Workflowy), I really have high hopes for Capacities. It seems to fill a middle ground in terms of complexity and functionality. I hope they keep the minimalist approach, and resist the trend of most PKM apps gradually devolving into cluttered chaos. (Workflowy does balancing pretty well too, giving simple standard functionality and letting you activate extra features in settings. Just wish it were a little further down the functionality spectrum, just a little closer to Notion; a balance which Capacities seems to have nailed so far...)

Great app and outstanding work for such a small team but no offline is the dealbreaker. Anytype is another app with the object paradigm, fully offline and totally committed to privacy. a better choice IMO

A good succinct overview. I would like to understand your scoring system though. Cheers 👍😎🇦🇺

Has this app something in common with Anytype?

The concept looks great, but $12 a month is ridiculous if you can't even access them on the go. I will wait and see how it evolves, but as of right now it is missing the basics.

You are saying objects but it looks to me like the block-based apps like logseq, tana, and Obsidian to an extent...

A great app, have tried it for a few weeks but no offline support was a deal breaker for me

$12/mo with no mobile app? What an interesting time to be alive.
