I've been using Capacities for two months. I plan to use it for 2000 months. Or till I kick the bucket. Though still under development, the organisational structure is phenomenal. I enjoy curating data of interest to me, and I can now find it simply.

The video is a little confusing but I have been using it for the past two months and it’s pretty amazing. It may look like notion but for knowledge management it’s way better. It’s hard to describe but very easy to learn. I would highly recommend checking it out.

If I’m unable to understand how a note taking app works in less than 1 minute then I’m out. I literally have no idea what this app does and I watched the whole video

Wow. You can create an entire Codex for your novel (characters, world building etc) and it will be easily findable and can be linked up to chapter notes and plot points! You can also create a other sets of chapter notes/plot points for subsequent drafts with relevant links and changes. That would make managing all the info in a novel so much easier.

It feels like the comment section is really thin on actual feedback to the author of this video.
My feedback is such that I referred to you, Dear Guest, as an author, because though writing YouTube scripts is a valuable way of making sure you say what needs to be said: you desperately need to move to Index Cards and premises instead of reading in one tone the entire video with next to no inflections nor any mood, and furthermore not much was said — especially anything enticing, insightful or valuable to me; your listener. Your audience. Just the grey monotony of your reading, here, had me lost in a fuzz of blankness and thus my listening-mind dropped out near immediately and I proceeded to hear sounds but learn nothing. I mean this honestly, as a writer myself — to you, Guest.
*The fact alone that YOU didn’t even sound interested, indulged, excited nor with a care in the world for what it was that you were narrating (word-by-word) and trying to teach or sell me, meant that I unconsciously — and eventually as dragged on I became very cognisant of the fact — dropped out of the race and with all of my interest and bother, almost immediately. Within seconds.*

Hopefully there’s some food for thought here! You’ve been very lucky to have scored an audience for testing yourself on, and of this size. Learn from it and keep your chin up. Good luck!

I have been playing this this and I REALLY like it, but until this is available offline, i am not going to move to this anytime soon, nor pay for the believer plan. In this day and age one should be be tethered to an internet connection to do useful work.

For me Capacities requires something I don't want in my note taking which is inflexibility, I have to decide if an item is X or Y and not both, and I don't want to back myself into that corner. Notion and its freedom fits my needs a lot more.

Some honest feedback. The way this is explained is awful. Clearly just reading a script that’s written how people write rather than how they talk. Tone of voice is level all the way through.

I don’t wish to do down what others create but you need to understand this could sell so much better if more effort was put into the course.

But the real important questions here: can I store my data locally? Is it fully encrypted, and does it work off-line?

You manage to slow her down, impressive 👏

This looks like an amazing app. There’s only one thing that turns me away, and that is the fact that nothing is encrypted.

I think note taking apps should be focused on students need. But if you want to organise daily routine than you should go with to do apps not note taking apps.

No folders! I don't have to be thinking "where do I put this" all the time. Capacities works more like my brain.

Wish Capacities was offline first, only reason why I'm using Anytype.

What it does that obsidian doesn't? This video literally explains how back linking of notes in obsidian works

I tried this the other day, I don't understand the table/database structure. From what I can tell it's a view and now a true table or database. I could not find a way to do formula calculations. So even a small running list of transactions in a month gave me no way to summarize the total spent. I do really like the networking and therefore reusing of data approach, but coming from Notion and now a heavy Coda user. Without true tables or databases... I'm lost. Is there a good YouTube video or website showing this? I watched some of Beth's other YouTube videos last week and nothing explains this. Thanks!
