I planted Bur Oak acorns in Rootmaker root pruning pot about 3 months ago, they have grown a lot and I am now transplanting them into Rootmaker Pots. Did a little experiment planted them into a standard 1 gallon pot, into 1, 2, 3 gallon Rootmaker pots and into a 3 gallon Roottrapper II pot.

Here are the Amazon Links to some of the items I used

Thank you for this video, bur oaks are such majestic trees and very good at providing food and habitat for wildlife, shade and beauty. I hope to grow them someday.

Agree - would love to see a 1 year plus update on these if you noticed any difference between the container sizes in relation to the size of the trees now.

How about an update video on these? I’m curious which pots worked better.

Wow. I really like the video. Excited to see what's next. I found quite a few but oak acorns on a walk through a park and really collected just to show to my daughter something about nature, but this looks like a fun project for us to do. Thank you

Hi. I'm in far north central TX and gathered some Burr Oak acorns yesterday. I will float test them, but do I need to freeze them to crack them, or just refrigerate until spring? Thanks!

I was always unsure of how to bump them up. I used the trapped to do pot and pot. It was easy to save moisture and more forgiving than having them above ground

I have a burr oak in a 3 gallon pot. It's from a sprouted acorn potted about 6 months ago. It's about the size of yours. When can it go in the ground? Best way to overwinter?

Great video! May ask a few questions?:
Where did you get those containers? Do you have website link?
I know you mentioned square is better, so is trying Amazon just fine?
I have land in South Carolina, but I live in New York. Do you have any tips for me to nurse my acorns out of pots in NY until I can plant them to fend for themselves in SC?
What is the best time of the year do this process prior to taking a trip down south to plant them?
How should I pretreat my land to optimize growth for the trees?
Thank you for your help.

Where did you get that root trapper 2 from? Can that be used for the final transplant of a oak tree to your land?

Why didn’t you plant these into the ground? Were you wanting to sell them to others or was it important to keep them in pots for a year before planting?

Hi sir, I'm really enjoying and learning from your videos. I really appreciate them but I was wondering if you could tell me what your start up mixture for planting live oak acorns consisted of. Thanks.

Do you have any white oak or red oak for sale?

I’m using soil conditioner as my soil, would that work? It drains the water fast but keeps it moist.

What temperature do you plant and how long does it take to germinate?
