One Piece is arguably the most spoiler-prone anime out there, so most of the major plot moments got spoiled to me before I even made it to Enies Lobby. But omg, I did not expect the Strawhat separation on Sabaody to play out the way it did, I was left w/ goosebumps & was in shambles.

we were actually prepared for Ace's death even if we didn't realize it. the way they prolonged (in a good way) his rescue meant they were gearing us up for something, especially with so many influential crews, captains and marines all gathered there, so when the ball dropped, even though it was sad and monumental, we already knew something major was gonna happen beforehand. we were still surprised of what that something was, but we were subconsciously prepared for heartbreak.

To me, the most shocking moment was when Chopper was fighting Kumadori.

Chopper was cornered so much that he knew he could not win and in his serious life or death situation, he took a final gum in order to go berserk.

Meaning: He knew he could not win and so he did a suicidal attempt to stall the enemy for at least a few minutes so that Kumadori would be kept from joining the fight against his friends.

It's like blindfolding yourself and just hope for the best while blindly use brute force on anyone who's around.

In the end he won but damn, it hit my heart deep.
