The manga panels that have genuinely disturbed me the most are both from Junji Ito. They are the snail head, the final few panels from the Amigara Fault, and that pimple one that was in the short. They all incite a combination of disgust and sadness that, together, makes them deeply disturbing.

The fact that Saki tries doing the hairstyle she had at the start is so heartbreaking to me. It's as if she's realizing just now how much she's lost and, unironically, how good her life was compared to... Well, now. She just wants to go back to those times. She tries convincing herself that it's just another morning getting ready for school and that she isn't inside a rancid school bathroom with a dead baby in her womb and about to overdose.
