As a kid when I saw this I didnt quite get the "I assume you have no other uncles here?" part. But of course I get it now.
I really like how he handled that awkward conversation with the utmost class, respect, & dignity.

Despite his position he truly treated Vivian like a lady, regardless of her social status. A true gentleman.

Although he is a sweet kind and proper gentlemen Barney (whether he realized it or not) did say something kinda snobbish when he said Mr. Lewis is a special costumer and we like to think of our special costumers as friends. Now as a costumer we would expect Mr. Lewis to sign in any offical guests but as a friend we're willing to overlook it.
