My 05 Corolla S is still running like it’s new. 207, 000 miles with no major problems. I was a tech at Toyota for 4 years and swore to buy a Corolla because of how reliable they were. Never looking back at this choice 🙏🏿🙏🏿

Scotty Kilmer is a nut, but he is right about Toyotas. He said he was quitting about 50 times and he keeps saying he is buying another vehicle about 100 times. He lies all the time, but knows cars.

I have had good luck with VW. My wife and I don’t mind trading a bit higher maintenance cost for good driving dynamics. Had Fords, Hondas, and Toyotas, they all felt like appliances.

If we're talking strictly "new car", then I cam see brand loyalty makes sense. But why buy a brand new car when a well maintained 3 year old car makes way more $$ sense??
Both mine and my husband's 2018 Hyundai's were purchased 2021 and 2020 respectively with 26k on the clock, each had been dealer maintained and in very good condition. I previously had a 2013 Santa Fe Sport 2.0t AWD purchased in 2016, so you could say I was brand loyal. My husband's previous car was a Mazda 3, I hated that car, engine noise and just all around uncomfortable.
Now we have come to our senses, you could say, and will be looking to replace our Hyundai's with Toyota's next, when not quite sure but most likely next year some time.
I'm looking at the Highlander Limited or Platinum or RAV4 (same), I need a road car as I do frequent trips currently from WA to AZ, but will be relocating to the southwest region next year as well. Hubby is looking at the Prius PHEV high end trim.
My point is, we no longer buy brand new cars, and would rather pay cash.

I have 2 Toyotas just sold a 2003Highlander with 240k miles for $2100. Gave the new owner all my data on repairs Timing belt etc, I have never has a major repair just usuables, like brakes, tire Oil fluids belts etc. The only odd thing was the gas tank port lid went bad.

I’ve been driving Hondas all my life. Never really had a reason to switch. Toyota would be the brand I would try if I switched.

Toyotas are good, just don't get any equipped with fox shocks unless you enjoy annually replacing shocks/struts. Toyota needs to replace them with something they make themselves.

Toyotas are probably best, but I bought a Honda Pilot based on Price. I had two Hondas that got more than 200, 009 miles before I sold them. I had a Toyota matrix which I sold at 170, 000 miles and the new owner now has 290, 000 miles on it.
