I've heard that Toyota sent engineers to American junk yards in the 80s to study why their vehicles broke down. The knowledge gained from that experience allowed them to over build parts that encounter most wear and tear. Just impressed with that kind of interest and passion on building quality vehicles. Think this was mentioned on Top Gear years ago.

Toyota factory workers are actually commended if they stop the factory line if they see a quality control issue, American brands, just fix a bad ECU harness with a peace of foam putting more pressure on the harness 😄 my cousin works at GM.
