Toyotas are more reliable simply because they are not over engineered, they use old and simple technology and they lack features that others have. OLD is Gold :D

When you're #1, lots of people are jealous....No Comparison...Toyota is King and the gap gets bigger every year!!!

I just wish US car makers would pay attention to what Toyota does....

Toyota used to be known for being cheap and reliable. Well they’re still reliable but the fan boys paying 50k+ are screwing up the cheap part.

There's no way Scotty K works 5 days a week as a mechanic - the guy puts out about 17 videos a day....

Toyota only ever update their vehicles with the modern bullshit because you people are never satisfied with the functionality and reliability of what they have given you. Nevertheless, they're still on top of the game👍

One of the main reasons I bought a 2019 4Runner. I'm 66 and I'm thinking it will out last me. Maybe it will go to my grand daughter.

Out of my fleet of personal vehicles, I have 6 Toyota’s out of 7.
20 Tundra Pro
14 Sienna SE
07 4Runner SR5
06 Tundra SR5
01 Camry LE
99 Camry LE
07 Silverado 1ton dually.
I’m like Scotty Kilmer, I’m a mechanic and I hate working on my own cars and that’s why I drive Toyota’s.

Facts. I am only having this “conversation” due to the reliability of a Hilux that got myself and three guys out of a less than great situation in Afghan. I own a ‘88 4runner, ‘12 Tacoma, and ‘97 Landcruiser. All have a minimum of 285k miles with excellent compression and run like champs on road and especially off road. All have traveled over multiple continents.

We have 3 Toyota’s. 2010 Corolla - 190, 000 miles. 2004 Camry - 197, 000 miles. 2008 Sienna - 247, 000 miles! Had to replace the Sienna’s water pump at 241, 000 only because the bearing was making some noise. Wasn’t leaking and could have kept driving it according to the dealer. Other than that just maintenance. Love our Toyota’s!!! Oh and I’ve owned lots of chevys and a couple fords. Liked them but all had major issues after 100, 000 miles....

All my cars that I still owned are Toyotas/ Lexus: 1996 Landcruiser, 1997 4runner, 2000 Avalon, 2002 LX470/ Landcruiser, 2006 GX 470 and 2010 Tundra. Three of them are 20 y/o and above and still are daily drivers. Most of the things I've done are just maintenance and parts that are wear and tear. I would take reliability vs newer technology which you can upgrade if you want to. All of my cars has high mileage original engines and transmissions.

This why my family has all Toyota's. 1996 Tacoma, 2005 4Runner, 2015 Camry & 2017 RAV4.

As a owner of a 2008 4Runner I have to agree. I bought it new and after 11 years it still runs and looks like new with standard dealer service only.

I’ll just say I have a 2010 tundra pushing 300k miles and over that time I’ve replaced the alternator, tensioning pulley and rear bearings.. only reason I had to do rear bearings is cause 160k plus of those 300k miles are towing 8-12k lb trailers. T

I remember working for Toyota as my first job learning to be a mechanic. Had to leave them working for volkswagon to actually learn shit on a vehicle. lol boring as hell just doing maintenance on Toyotas.

Toyota’s are great vehicles. I service many different tundras, many of them with very high mileage and original parts still working just fine

No, it’s not. But if you want a myth how about this one:
“Over the last few decades manufacturers have all improved the quality of their cars”

My '16 Tacoma and my wifes'17. Tacoma has never had not one single issue, We treasure reliability. We care less if it's out dated and not keeping up with the new thing and flash.
