I was 61 before I invested a penny. I'm nearly 65 now, but am so much better off for investing. It is never, EVER too late to start.

Great video, just started investing as a 50 year old, left it late as had been conned by lines like "the love of money is the root of all evil" etc but it is just about giving choice in life, wish I'd started sooner so anyone reading this in there 20s-40s get yourself an ISA :)

2 of my friends with kids under 3 have now opened up Junior SIPPs for them and will be putting in the max each year for the next 15 years. Personally I've maxed out my pension allowance using AVCs and moved the default fund into L&G's Global Index fund. 2 years ago I was starting to panic about pensions and what the future held, but after watching you/James/Ramin/Tom I feel like I have the knowledge and tools to make a real change over the next decade until I retire at 60. You're really making a difference by sharing this knowledge.

BTC can disregard techincals when in a bull, did that in 2020 when it crossed previous ATH... stayed there a few weeks and continued pumping like crazy to 60k. Also, there is one constant... when around 90 on monthly RSI, the end is near. And don't expect crazy price targets of 500k... expect around 100k at most and be happy if there's more after that. If you believe big boys and CEO's of big invesment firms saying targets like 1M this cycle.. you deserve to be their exit liquidity..It's not about guessing the market's next move; it's about playing it smart and steady during trading...managed to grow a nest egg of around 2.3B'tc to a decent 21B'tc in the space of a few months... I'm especially grateful to Linda Wilburn, whose deep expertise and traditional trading acumen have been invaluable in this challenging, ever-evolving financial landscape.

I fancied myself as a day trader when I first started, I was gonna get rich, what an idiot. 🤣🤣🤣 Now I realise long term investing is the best way to go.👍

Great information here. I also started in my 50s. Way too late but last week I received £536 dividend from L&G😊

Great video Toby.

I feel your pain at the start of your investing journey. When I started I thought investing was BUY BUY SELL SELL.I bought some shares in a company that wasn’t doing so well, but I thought it would turn around. Based on nothing of course. It went bust a year later, and I lost the lot.

How arrogant and stupid!

Only after that did I bother to learn what the hell was going on.
Now I’m maxing out my ISAs and getting full employer pension contributions (20% me, plus 10% my employer) in equity funds of my choosing - passive of course.
Now I just index and chill.
Even got my wife investing into an ISA, and she’s one of those people that thinks the stock market is gambling.
Now here we are. I’m 53, wife is 48. We’re on target to retire in 2 years.

Thanks to people like you on YouTube who educate idiots like me to look after our future 👍

Mine would be:
1 - Start sooner
2 - You CAN do it on your own. IFAs take one hell of a cut
3 - Platform costs can be insane
4 - Benchmark the fund your IFA puts you in. You should probably just buy the world
5 - Start sooner

Another brilliant video mate 👍 all that's needed is to turn my clock back 20 years
instead of being this
58 year old just
starting out investing with an ETF you recommended thank you😁

I wish I knew about investing earlier in life. I never had a pension until auto enrollment as they didn't offer one to use minions.
But the real change for me was 2017 and me finding serious content on Reddit about finance and all the hype about Vanguard's arrival. Then being worried to put big sums in.
Now 6.5 years later it's been a massive change with my only wish being if this was all mainstream 20 years ago where I would have been today.

I know all the youngsters moan today about everything (I sound old! 😂) but they have never had it better with the offering available to them for investing.

We need to spread the idea of education in financial literacy in this country, especially now we have online brokers like 212. I wish this stuff was around when I was in my 20's.

Very wise words spoken here. Thanks for the great content as usual and automating your investing is one of the biggest ways of making it a habit

Thank you for this. I'm 24 and decided to bite the bullet and open both a SIPP and investment account last month, taking the index and chill approach. "Parting" with some of my money every month is going to be tough as someone who prefers to store it away, but I'm hoping I'll look back in 10 years and be pleased I took this step. Your videos have been helping a lot in giving some confidence that I might have done a good thing for future me

Great video as always and I think we all share the regrets, but if you can help beginners avoid them that’s appreciated indeed.

Great advice. I also wish I knew more about ISAs / Index funds many years ago...I only started saving into a S&S ISA 5 years ago. Fortunately I was aware of the importance of having a good personal pension many years ago and I was able to squirrel enough away to retire early last year! Truly life changing. 👍

Great videos! I started off just like you, didn’t have a clue about the markets and investing, but just did some basic research and now it’s really easy, and the platforms just getting better and better. Keep up the good work!

Made those mistakes too Toby. Just started investing 3 months ago and like you said, it’s getting better & easier as days passed.
I hated numbers finance and the idea of money, now I can’t believe i am able to understand the alpha, beta and standard deviation.

Thanks for the reminder Toby.
