Also I’d very much appreciate any feedback. And of course I love to challenge myself, so if you have an idea, let me know in the comments and I’ll give it a try!
I am an acrylic pouring addict, without a doubt. Playing with colors, testing out new fluid art techniques, brands, sizes & collaborating with other abstract fluid artists; is the best. Since I started this journey I feel more balanced in my work and passion. If you see these fluid painting tutorials and feel like, this is something for me: go for it! The fun thing about fluid painting is, that even though you do exactly the same, the outcome is different everytime. Also everybody has a different view of composition, colorcombinations and the way of doing a technique, what makes and keeps it so interesting to watch. Thank you for watching and following me in my modern art journey!

I wish I had seen this a couple years ago before I got started. So thank you. One tip for beginners is don’t start out learning on the most expensive canvases. Practice and learn consistency or you could run out of money before you get to the really good art pieces.

Just a tip I learned about using pouring medium. For example, let's say you're using floetrol. Pour your floetrol in your cop first, before you pour in the paint. This way the paint doesn't get stuck in the grooves and bottom of the cup. You may notice some vids where artists use shallow, wide mouthed cups that are smooth on the inside. That's why. I learned that after wasting a LOT of paint. Thanks Rinske! 😁

I’m in love with pouring paint because it’s an exercise in trusting the process, surrendering my expectations, then accepting and embracing the result. Art is medicine.

These tips would have been great to know 3 years ago. Thanks for sharing them now so that new acrylic pourers don’t give up. I teach fluid art and I know if some people don’t get good results they don’t always want to continue. My advice is to stick with it a bit longer.
An important aspect of pouring is that it comes down to 3 critical items - consistency, consistency and consistency. If you’re trying a new style of painting and it’s not working, it’s likely because the paints are different or wrong consistencies. Write down what you use when you’re testing it. Keep trying by varying only one thing at a time. The base coat is as important as the other colours but sometimes it needs to be thinner - depending on the style of painting - in order to allow the paint to tilt over the base coat. To test your paints put a spoonful of each on a canvas to check the flow rate. If one flows down more quickly than the rest, it’s too thin and needs more paint it flows down too slowly then it’s too thin and needs more water added to the paint mix.

Wow, your free hand movement to paint, has helped me to loosen my style. I’ve always wanted to do abstract but yr painting has motivated me so much, watch you paint is like being in meditation. Calming n soothing. Even your videos with tips - by God you really want to share, not hesitant at all. I love your style. I have a lot to learn from you, please do let us know when you plan to come to Australia n have some inexpensive workshops. We would love to watch you in person. Keep up yr good work n sharing. God bless

So true. Lots of frustration with cheap artist supplies. You get what you pay for. Cheap paint and you have problems or have to add extra additives to prevent issues with loss of binders, pigments and everything else. As usual Rinske your advice is so spot on.

Thank you for this. I have felt somewhat of a failure because I thought I had to have a real plan. Now I think I can have more fun and not be so obsessive and disappointed. Thank you, Thank you for your words of wisdom!
