The Jetta gets some updates & changes for 2022 from VW. On the outside you will notice a new front fascia, wheels and rear bumper. On the inside there is leather seating, digital gauge cluster and 8in infotainment screen. Under the hood is an upgraded 1.5L turbocharged inline-4 that produces 158HP & mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Is the 2022 VW Jetta a BETTER new sedan to buy than a Honda Civic?

Had a 22 jetta rental today. Absolutely loved it. Crushed it off the line, zipped over mountain curves. Seriously thinking of getting one

I think the ambient lighting, oversized sunroof, ventilated seats, heated rear seats and the fact that the navigation can be configured to be shown in the cockpit sets it apart from the Civic Touring. The instrument cluster in the cockpit is much more customizable overall and that's a huge plus for me. 10 time outta 10 taking this over the Civic.

I would take a Jetta GLI with a manual transmission or a GTI. In general I think the Jetta looks better than the Civic

Blows my mind about Jetta, Civic, and others not putting in rear seat AC vents. It would cost like $20 worth of plastic to make that happen...

Incredible MPG they are getting from this engine. Clearly tuned for the US market. This is an excellent but small step towards sanity in the VW lineup. The new font is very attractive. This is a very competitive offering from VW.

Test drove the jetta SE and the civic sport. The civic lost me at the CVT, no amount of nice interior materials and tech can make up for a car that is totally neutered, it could not get out of its own way. The jetta was lighting up the tires with ease.

Had it as a loaner for a couple of days, it's a great car. Very quiet cabin which was surprising in this class. Power delivery is much better than previous years. I was impressed.

I've got a 2019 Jetta SEL with the beats and going into the settings with an OBDeleven to set the audio to fender made a huge difference in sound quality. From the factory it's configured as a base model so it sends the full frequency to all speakers. Setting to fender ads hi and low crossovers. That one setting woke up the system, bass is deeper, crisper highs, clearer sounding overall and also more powerful. It'll get substantially louder before distorting

I test drove both the Jetta S and the Honda Civic EX (comes with the 2.0L engine here in Canada). The Jetta wins hands down. it's faster 0 to 60, quieter, softer ride, no CVT lag, and feels more solid overall. The civic looks more modern on the inside and it has a nicer looking infotainment system.

I’d honestly be holding back quite a few laughs if I were your camera man. Great review as always!

I have the 2022 Jetta SE as my 125 mile daily commuter. Smooth quiet ride, heated front seats, huge panoramic sun roof, sips, sips gas (I get lower to mid 40's MPG) at 72 mph. I like the no CVT (but that's just me) Give the Jetta a test drive you won't be disappointed. Oh did I mention this is the perfect commuter!!

Just picked one up and am very happy. Quiet ride, great seats, alot of features. Dash is amazing with all the modes. You can even put the nav fullscreen on the driver dash. over sized sunroof. 40plus on the hwy. Really impressed.

I have 11, 500 miles on my Jetta S
Average over 43 mpg on the highway, many times hit 47mpg on the highway.
Avg 38 mpg in the city, many times hit 41mpg.
All depends on if I concentrated on MPG.
Blew out a tire at 9500, not the cars fault, no real problems. By the way I have a six speed manual and I recommend the 6 speed manual. It works together with the engine to get the most power, plus if you follow the eco mode you get absolutely great MPG.
Price and MPG is why I purchased but it has surpassed all my expectations.

I bought a 2023 Jetta Sport, hard to find in my area but no deletes like the 22 models I looked at with great mpg and way faster and cheaper than a 2.0 Civic.

I like it. Reminds me of an affordable Audi, sleek and professional but also zippy with the turbo
