2022 Volkswagen Jetta Sport Manual | 0-70 MPH

0-70 in my new Jetta Sport 1.5T with the 6 speed manual! Soft start, no launch, upshifted when suggested. This car is pretty quick 0-60. No, it’s not an A4 2.0T or a Jetta GLI 2.0T, but in the real world, passing is where this turbo engine shines. I can pass people only downshifting one gear, and sometimes, don’t even need to downshift at all. The torque band is pretty broad and this car gets near 50 mpg on the highway. In the mountains I can go up a 6% grade in 6th gear at 80 miles an hour with no problem. Usually I’m shifting about 2500-3000 with normal acceleration. Really happy with this engine despite it’s small size.

Is it just me, or does it seem like the gearing is shorter than in the previous 1.4t with a manual? That one’s 2nd gear seemed to go all the way to 70 mph.

have the same car, try shifting at redline from first to second, then at around 4.5 on the rest. this should really help your acceleration time 👍

I have no idea how to make digital speed appear inside tachometer on my 22Jetta SE! I absolutely love the car!

Did that car actually drop to 3000 rpm on the 1 > 2 shift?
