When I was 42 I had explosive periods.. I couldn’t control it and it was crazy for about a year! Then I started having a period every 3 months… by the time I was 47 I knew something was wrong with me..I hadn’t had a period in one year but my doctor didn’t believe me and wanted to keep giving me birth control pills.. so we did blood works again and it proved I was post menopause..at 47. I felt like life was over and I felt myself shrinking.. I felt like my mind was shrinking. My muscles were shrinking. My skin was shrinking and thinning. It was a horrible feeling. So I started HRT and I feel a lot better now.

I thought I was going through perimenopause for years then I found out I had uterine cancer. I guess it has similar symptoms. I was having really long, painful periods. I was experiencing extreme fatigue, cramping and heavy periods. Once I had a period for almost two months straight. I begged for a hysterectomy which I was flat out refused because “You are still young and might regret it”. Despite having told my doctor I had zero interest in having children.Every time I talked to my doctor about it she shrugged it off. Then I switched to a different doctor who sent me to get a biopsy and that’s when I got the cancer diagnosis. It wasn’t until then that I was given the option of a hysterectomy and was still pressured to save eggs in case I changed my mind about having kids.

I have always had extremely heavy periods this time my period has lasted 9 days and it would normally be 5 to 7 days sometimes I have 2 periods in 1 month so yep I'm pretty sure I'm having perimenopausal symptoms

The past two months I traded my horror movie heavy bleeding stabbing pain periods for ones that are 2-weeks long
This one I’m in is going on a month
It’s really doing wonders for my relationship with my partner.. ☹️
Seriously enough- i don’t care what the down side of menopause is
It’s better than this shit
Not having a period ever again will make me the happiest person on the planet

Perimenopause is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get.

I had to have a emergency ablation done a year ago & 5 iron transfusions after a 3 month non-stop period. It nearly killed me.

I had heavier periods due to fibroids finally had a D&C done to kill off the lining in order to get my anemia UNDER CONTROL. Cycle still comes but now it's lighter and lasts only 3 days as opposed to 10!! ❤❤❤❤

Yep! I had the same for a while, & heavier. Was too much w/ having my own solo cleaning business, so I ended up getting an IUD, & once my body got used to it, (3-4 mo.s), I am so glad I did. 55 & no more periods!! Still get hot flashes. Sage capsules really help w/ them, but, *You can only take them for 3-4 mo.s, then break for 3-4 mo.s, & so on, bk & forth.

Thanks I’m terrified lol. ❤ 😮 I’m 48 years old. I want this over soon. Some are saying periods every two weeks are a concern. I just want to relax. 😅

Can we please have a discussion in length about the severe symptoms of perimenopause? I have experienced the Perry flu for 2 and 1/2 weeks and it is literally made me feel like I would have been hit by a train. I began HRT just a few short days ago and I just think that more women like me I appreciate the conversation of all the symptoms that are not expressed cuz I barely get hot flashes but my body kills me my sleep is so disruptive The Dread and doom energy of something constantly going to happen is so present. Let's talk about some of the debilitating symptoms and yes I've already been to my doctor and they have run tests to make sure there's no underlying conditions it is straight up perimenopause flu
