From 3D Model to Foam Pattern | Cosplay Tutorial

We often use 3D models to create the patterns for my foam builds! So I thought it was about time to show you how the whole process works! If you never worked with Blender before go check out Benni's video:

We didn't explain much about how Pepakura Designer works because the program is relatively easy. But if you want us to make a more detailed video about this too, just let me know in the comments.

Instead of doing an entire retopology of the model: There is an option in Blender called "Tris to Quads".

When Benni came out and got interrupted i fully expected him to go find a big hammer and knock Svetlana off screen for some reason.

I don't think the STL generator gave you a very accurate looking model to work with, and I think that's why it really ended up looking more like the Griffith helmet than the Nighthawk lol. The technique is still spot on though and the video very well done, so I appreciate it none the less and look forward to the next one!

Hello, I know this is an older tutorial, but using Blender 3.5, the mesh vertices don't stick to the model like yours do at 3:00 . They float above, though the planes seem to be shrinkwrapped to the model. Any idea how to resolve this?

I really loved your toutorial, but I am still pretty new to blender and I think the snapping changed for the face in the newer version of blender. It does not have "project onto self" anymore. I know this video was a while ago, but do you happen to have a new solution for that? or if anyone else does, could you let me know. Thanks again for the great tutorial.

People: "Woah! Griffith's helmet"

They totally ripped off the Helmet from Griffith armor in the Bersek manga (best manga ever).
Google it, and have a look, Berserk is full of crazy armors that would do great cosplay suits.
