Lilacs are a spring-blooming favorite here in Northeast Ohio and for good reason! Not only are they deer-resistant, they are also fragrant and attract all types of pollinators early in the season. Watch this video with Noelle, Horticulturist & Education Manager with Petitti Garden Centers, to learn more about how to grow and care for Lilacs. This classic plant family produces wonderfully fragrant panicles of white, pink, blue, and purple flowers in spring. For classic blooms, check out Syringa vulgaris, or some of the Korean types, including 'Miss Kim' and 'Palibin'. If you're looking for re-blooming varieties, check out the Boomerang® series from Proven Winners.

I have a Korean lilac. It just bloomed for the first time last year. I love the delicate flowers and great fragrance.

Great video and I have an old fashion lilac and the newer vision. I got a start from my grandma. I'm pretty old myself, I'm 62. And I live in northeastern Oklahoma. I love your channel, so much great information.

Great video! I have a young bloomerang, can I just dead head the few spent blossoms for more blooms or would you suggest to do a light prune all around the plant? Thanks!
