The Ficus family is one of our favorites for indoor foliage. Not only are they easy to grow, they are also one of the best air-purifying plants you can have in your home or office, AND there are so many varieties to choose from! Watch this video with Noelle, Horticulturist and Education Director with Petitti Garden Centers, to learn more about how to be successful with all different types of Ficus. These plants prefer bright, indirect sunlight but a good number of them will also tolerate medium light. "Medium light" is anywhere in a sunny room, 6-8 ft away from a window OR 12-14 hours of fluorescent lighting. If you prefer Rubber Plants (a.k.a. Ficus Elastica) look for varieties like 'Tineke' or 'Abidjan'. For more leafy, green texture, check out Ficus Benjamina varieties like 'Golden King' or 'Samantha'. Two of the most common varieties when it comes to ficus are 'Audrey' and the ever-popular Fiddle-Leaf Fig.

So informative! Right now I'm on the rubber plant level. Next time, Fiddle Fig tree level. 😊

How funny, i find the fiddle leaf very easy but my audrey & altissima have all failed on me. Rubber trees are much harder for me!
