1) SUMX: When u have to calculate row by row. ex: sum(sales, sales[unit price]*sales[QTY])
2) SUM: When doesn't require row level operation.

SIR, sum and sumx working same in report while calculating total sales. But SUMX helps in finding sales amount when there is no calculated column
(ex. (qty*sales)).Instead of creating new column we create measure SUMX to work row level which helps in improving performance, and reduces memory usage right.
in simple words can we say sum works on column level
and SUMX works in row level.
if we asked this question in interview.

Sir, I used sumx function to calculate profit but the value is different, I used the profit column that is showing profit 1.31m but by performing sumx function my profit is 1.27m 😅am I doing something wrong
