What Happened To Sam Hogan?

What happened to Sam Hogan. He was at the height of his career when he vanished and left many wondering where he had gone. Today I took a look into his rise, peak, disappearance, and what he's doing now.

I used to watch Sam's video. It was both educational and fun to watch, so when I saw this video's thumbnail, I thought some tragic thing had happened to him... Thankfully, it wasn't the case.

Sounds like he really took it with grace, a lot of people become trapped in their virality and end up pushing themselves to make content they don't like to keep up with the demands, I think it was really mature of to just say "I don't like doing what I got viral for anymore, so I won't keep making content, " rather than pushing himself to do stuff he didn't like, or trying to make other content and then getting disappointed when its not as popular as the stuff he got famous for. I always liked his content and he seems like a good guy, and while no one owes the internet an explanation, I'm glad it is just a shift in interests instead of him being hurt or something else horrible.

My favorite part is that when people disappear from youtube everyone always jumps to the extremes "They died" "They quit youtube" "They got hacked" When the real reason is almost always just "I lost motivation, i may come back in the future but honestly I have no idea"

I found Sam's channel when it was already in its long hiatus. Binge watched the videos, downloaded and played all the Game Jam games he made, and loved them.
Of all the game makers I saw on YouTube, he was probably one of the most creative ones when it came to game mechanic ideas. I hope he sometime comes back, but if he doesn't, well, I just wish him well.
