Alternative steps: Fill 5 liter bucket. Pour into 3 liter bucket so 2 liters remain in 5 liter bucket. Empty 3 liter bucket. Pour 2 remaining liters into 3 liter bucket. Fill 5 liter bucket. Pour 5 liter bucket’s contents into 3 liter bucket until the 3 liter bucket’s remaining 1 liter of space is filled and the 5 liter bucket will have 5-1=4 liters.

1. Fill the 5L bucket.
2. Push the 3L bucket into the 5L bucket, using displacement to remove 3L of water leaving 2L of water in the 5L bucket, OR pour the 3L into the 3L bucket and discard it leaving you with the 2L in the 5L bucket.
3. Pour the 2L from the 5L bucket into the 3L bucket.
4. Fill the 5L bucket again.
5. Use the displacement method in step 2 to remove 3L from the 5L bucket, leaving you with 2L in both buckets.
6. You now have 4L of water, but you can also combine them into the 5L bucket.

Have a third bucket. First fill up the 5L bucket then use that to fill the 3L bucket. The difference should give you 2 L left in the 5L bucket. Then move those 2 L in the third bucket. Repeat it twice and you have 4L measured

Great explanation. I like the logical approach to the second method

Fill 3 liter 🪣 × 2 and pour in to 5 liter 🪣 remain 1 liter.
Empty the 5 liter 🪣
Pour that 1 liter in to 5 liter 🪣
Again fill 3 liter 🪣 from the source.
Add in to 5 liter 🪣

A=5L bucket B=3L bucket
1. Fill in A
2. Pour A to B until B is full
3. Remove the B water
4. The A now should have 2L
5. Pour the A water to B so B now has 2L water
6. Fill in A
7. Pour waters from A to B, that means B should have 3L water
8. BOOM! A HAS NOW 4L OF WATER!!!

First fill 5L bucket.
Pour into 3L bucket.
Throw 3L water that you have in 3L bucket.
Pour rest 2L water into 3L bucket.
Again fill 5L bucket.
Pour into 3L bucket to full it.
Now you have remaining 4L water in 5L bucket.

easier method is to just fill the 3L bucket for weight, place the entire bucket of water into the 5L bucket, fill the 5L bucket until the water is level with the 3L bucket. Take the 3L bucket out and pour out the water into the 5L bucket. Simple.

Easy way was fill 5 L bucket and push 3L bucket in 5L bucket which will overflow water and remain 2 L. Then pure it to 3 L bucket and repeat process till over flow. Finally 5L bucket contains 2 L and by 2L in 3L bucket which make it 4 L

Step 1 - fill 5 ltr Bucket drop in little bucket.
Step 2 - drop 3l bucket water and fill it with remaining 5-3=2l water of bucket 5l.

Step 3. Fill 5l bucket full and drop water to 3l bucket which already 2l filled only 1 ltr water can be filled in it so now we have 4l water in 5l bucket..

In just step 3 👌!

Fill half of the 3 litre bucket... 1.5L then half of the 5 litre bucket... 2.5L. Pour the 1.5L from the 3L bucket and get 4L. EzZzz. Less steps but not as exact as other methods. Depends on how accurate the measurement of water has to be for the intended purpose of the system. 😊
