It is possible to measure 6 liters when you only have a 9 liter and a 4 liter containers . This principle also applies to measuring 6 gallons with a 9 gallon and 4 gallon containers. And measuring 6 fluid ounces with a 9 ounce and 4 ounce bottle. Watch my video for all the details.

I've used scale models of the 9 litre and 4 litre containers, so that the video runs for less time and it is easier to see what is happening. The same principle applies to measuring 6 gallons and 6 fluid ounces, as these bottles are just scale models.

You can also do it the other way around, pouring from 4 liter container into the 9 liter and then emptying it

So I find a container that is 3 liters, then I have to find container thats .6 liters as well then correct ? I am inquiring because I have a motorcycle which holds exactly 3.6 liters of motor oil. I can use either semi synthetic or full synthetic oil in bike for wet slipper clutch system. I do not want to over fill the oil system of my motorcycle is why I'm asking.
