India is safe... Just avoid shady places.. Stick to well lit areas... Simple.. U will find people very friendly.

Just please don't cheap out on places you stay and eat and it will be a fun experience. I would recommend not staying in hotels below 30$ a day. You can always use uber to go places, it's not costly.

Hey just be alert and smart, and you are good to go. Its not like taliban or alqaeda lives here. Population of 1.4 billion and ofcourse tgere are bad apples, just be careful and enjoy. People are great and humble.
