Fluid Mechanics 3.38

Water flows from a pressurized tank, through a 6-in.-diameter pipe, exits from a 2-in.-diameter nozzle, and rises 20 ft above the nozzle as shown in Fig. P3.38. Determine the pressure in the tank if the flow is steady, frictionless, and incompressible.

You are the goat, I appreciate you explaining the assumptions necessary for the problem.

1:50 We choose points 1 and 2 in this case because we know 5 of the 6 variables (p1, v1, h1, p2, v2, h2). We can’t choose the exit nozzle because we don’t know velocity at that point (or any point for that matter). Point 2, we know all 3 variables for the Bernoulli equation.

Well, to find the distance between the void in the tank, just use bernoulli equation between the top of the tank and the free surface of the water, you'll find it 2ft.

just gotta ask. wouldnt the height at point 2 be greater than 20 ft? shouldnt it be 20 ft PLUS whatever ?the height of the air above the fluid in tank is ?

Is it possible to speak one on one to you about a scenario i have IRL and need help?

Why we not make electric🔌⚡ power💪⚡ from atmospheric conditions and volume and pressure at a kilometre area 🤣🤣🤣

A very huge favor will come back 😂😂😂
